Ronald J. Kroeger

Ronald J. Kroeger, 88, of Evansville, IN passed away Monday November 8, 2021. He was born in Haysville, IN to the late Noah and Leah (Varner) Kroeger.
Upon graduation from Bosse High School, Ronald enrolled at Indiana University where he was a member of the ROTC. He went on to enlist with the US Navy and served in the Pacific on the Atomic Energy Commission. After completing active duty in 1968, he began a long and successful career with the US government culminating with his retirement from the Federal Aviation Administration. Ronald was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, as well as the Jaycee’s, Optimist Club, and American Legion. He was an avid golfer and greatly enjoyed singing with the church choir. His greatest joy in life was his family. Ronald was a true family man who was always involved with his childrens’ activities such as Boy Scout camping trips and sports teams.
Ronald was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Janice Lee Kroeger, whom he loved very much; son, Michael L. Kroeger; and brother, Leon Kroeger, who died in infancy.
He is survived by his sons, Mark E. Kroeger (Cathy) and Matthew R. Kroeger (Katrina); daughter, Marcia L. Hopkins (Curtis); grandchildren, Christopher Goodson (Tara), Jonathon Goodson (Jennifer), Shannon M. Kroeger, Shelley DeLisle (John), Max Kroeger, Sam Kroeger, and Oksana Kroeger; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Kroeger (Debbie); and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2021 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Rev. Robert Schneider with burial in Alexander Memorial Park with full military honors. Friends and family may visit Monday from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m at the funeral home.
