Robert “Bob” L. White, 88, of Rockport, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1928, in Evansville, to the late Warren and Malta Clora (McIntire) White.
He attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, where he met his wife, and then Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Bob traveled the country with the Light of Life Gospel Quartet and pastored several area churches. After retiring from ministry, he opened a PiP printing franchise in Owensboro, which he operated for 20 years. He was an avid Star Trek Fan.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jean White; three sisters; and two brothers.
He is survived by his children, Scot (Terry) White of Rockport, Jeanna (Terry) Costello, and Thomas White, both of Evansville; grandchildren, Krista Bryl, Elizabeth Burgdorf, Roberta Christian, and Russell Christian; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Anita Williams and Doris (Russell) Farmer, both of Evansville; and beloved companion, Chi Chi.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, February 16, 2017, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor George Dooms, with entombment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
