Robert R. "Bob" Bell

Robert R. “Bob” Bell, 81, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at West River Health Campus. He was born March 27, 1940, in Slaughters, Kentucky, to the late Raymond R. and Hazel V. (Carlisle) Bell. Robert was a member of Old North United Methodist Church, where he participated in the Men’s Club. Bob was also a member of Lessing Masonic Lodge #464 and the Swords of Bunker Hill. He enjoyed lunch meetings with his friends in the Liars Club and breakfasts with his fellow retired railroaders. He retired from CSX Railroad, formerly L & N, after 42 years of employment. Robert was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, IU Basketball, Indianapolis Colts, and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, the love of his life, Carolyn Sue (Pfohl) Bell; and daughter, Lori A. Knight. Robert is survived by his daughter, Tamara S. Elpers (Paul); son, Robert R. Bell II (Debra); son, Steven D. Bell; grandchildren, Carissa, Cody, Caylee and Ciara Elpers, Jeremy, Heather, Trevor and Zailey Bell and Steven Bell, Jr.; and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Alexander North Chapel, officiated by Rev. Glen Pfohl, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Masonic Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
