Obituary of Richard O. Cobb
Richard “Dick” Cobb, 83, of Evansville was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Monday September 12, 2022. He was born November 28, 1938 to the late Omer and Anna (Wolf) Cobb. Richard was a lifelong Evansville resident and a graduate of Central High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Centenary Methodist Church. He retired from Whirlpool Corporation after 30 years of service. Bowling, watching pro football, golf, cars, coin collecting, and playing cards were among some of his favorite hobbies and interests; as well as singing and playing guitar in his younger years. But nothing was more important to him than his family. His unconditional love, devotion, and support will be a treasured memory in the hearts of his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his best friend and wife of 48 years, Darla (Stevens) Cobb; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Marilou Cobb; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eugene and Ruth Stevens. He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Freeman (Mike); son, David Cobb; grandchildren, Brandon McCrarey (Amy), Tiffany Parson (Chantz), Kelly Stead (Bobby), Troy Mitchell (Misty); great grandchildren, Shanoa McCrarey, Liam McCrarey, Stiles Parson, Brittnay Stead, Whittnay Roberts, Connor Stead, McKenna Stead, Morgan Mitchell, Maddix Mitchell; great- great grandchildren, Bentley Harris, Camden Roberts, Nash Roberts; brother-in-law, Steven Stevens (Debbie); sister-in-law, Susan Ruggier (Joe); and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday September 17, 2022 at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the chapel.
