Randy worked at a variety of trades. He worked at Bucyrus Erie for 12 years, and eventually transitioned to the elevator trade, where he worked himself up from repairing elevators to running River City Elevator. More recently, he worked for the State of Indiana as an elevator inspector.
Randy was married to Darlene (Boyd) Ross for 46 years. They have two daughters, Missy Ross and Laura Wellmeier, a son-in-law, Luke Wellmeier, and his little buddy, his grandson Owen Wellmeier. He also enjoyed spending time with his furry buddy, Rags. He will also be missed by his brothers Dale and Jeff (Jackie) Ross, and his sister Pam (Gary) Coursey, brother-in-law Larry (Peggy) Cardin, as well as a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Betty; brother, Ronald Ross; sister, Gail Ross; brother-in-law, Bill Cardin; mother-in-law, Leota Crabtree; nephews, Jerimiah Ross and Little Bill Cardin; and niece, Joni Cardin.
Randy was a muscle car enthusiast and loved Fords, especially his 1970 Ford Torino Super Cobra Jet, which he drove since 1972. He often attended car shows with the Pony Express Mustang Club and Classic Fords group.
Randy and his family traveled extensively by car, and enjoyed nearly all of the national parks across the country, especially Yellowstone. He was also an enthusiastic fan of Reitz football.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Terry Gamblin, with livestreaming at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA and burial in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
