She was a 1959 graduate of Central High School and afterwards attended Hanover College. She received a Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Evansville and a Masters from I.U. She was a Kindergarten teacher at West Terrace for about ten years and enjoyed following the accomplishments of her students. Following the birth of her daughter, she substitute taught for EVSC. She was a lifelong Presbyterian and is currently a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. She has served as a Deacon, choir member, and camp counselor. Paula was involved in the community as a member of the Board of the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, and as a long time precinct committeeman and election volunteer. She was also a member of and active in the Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Teaching Sorority and a member of Daughters of the Nile. Paula was an avid antique collector and for most of her life, enjoyed making quilts and doing other needlework. She was known for her hospitality and never met a stranger. Paula loved her family, especially her grandkids, and she loved the Lord.
Paula was preceded in death by her father, Paul Squire; mother, Helen Squire Roth; and step-father, Raymond Roth.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard E. Yeager; daughter, Sarah Yeager McKee and her husband, Blair, of FL; grandchildren, Matthew and Erin McKee; and several aunts and cousins.
Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 30, 2014, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 5501 Washington Ave., Evansville, IN 47715, with burial to follow. Friends may visit Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Alexander East Chapel and Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
