Nina E West

Nina E. West, 91, of Evansville passed away Friday December 8, 2023. She was born July 31, 1932 in Geneva, NY to the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Andersen) Christensen. She attended the Rochester School of Nursing in Rochester, NY and went on to work at Geneva General Hospital in Geneva, NY. Nina then worked as a surgical nurse at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. After raising her four children, she worked on the Skilled Unit at Holiday Healthcare as charge nurse and Director of Nursing, and later Infection Control. Nina was a former member of Old North United Methodist Church and Raintree Quilters. She was an artist. Nina enjoyed painting, quilting from her drawings, sewing, baking, making clothes, knitting, and caring for her rose garden. Nina was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 58 years, Donald L. West; son-in-law, Ed Williams; brother, Jack Christensen; and sister, Kitty Calder. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Gilbert (Gary); son, Harold West; Frank West (Tamara “Tamie”); daughter, Margie Williams; grandchildren, Elizabeth Morgan (Eric), Katie Offerman (Jake), Lauren Unfried (Wes), Christien West, and Evan West (Jane); great grandchildren, Elliot and Lucas Unfried; and sisters, Karen Christensen (John), Nancy Ciaio, Chris Daily (Bernie), and Lisa Woodworth (David).
