Meda M. Ballard

Almeda “Meda” Ballard, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Meda was born on February 20, 1938. She was the youngest of four daughters born to Earl Holton and Cathryn (Delehanty) Sackett. She was a lifelong resident of Evansville.
Meda married Stan Ballard on December 30, 1955 and together they owned several Stan’s Una Pizza restaurants. Meda was an active stay-at-home mom, back in the day when they were called homemakers. With five daughters, Meda was involved in PTA and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed sewing and baking and was known for her flair for cake decorating.
She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church and a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Evansville. Meda had a deep and abiding faith and a strong love for her Savior and her family.
Meda was preceded in death by her husband, Stan; sisters, Marie Evans, Kitty Bent and Edith Knippel, and three sons-in-law, Ron Schwindel, Noa Pacarro and Rocky Davis. She is survived by daughters, Renee Schwindel, Lucinda Pacarro, Rebecca Meredith (Mike), Judy Davis and Sandi Wilson. In addition she leaves a legacy of 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Due to the COVID pandemic restrictions, a private funeral service for immediate family will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 11. 2021 at Alexander Memorial Park-Heritage Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive.
