Marlene “Marty” Ruth Koch, 88, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, in her daughter’s home. She was born August 19, 1933, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, to the late Harold and Vera Bleeke.
Marty graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School in Ft. Wayne, IN. She graduated in 1954, from Indiana University, with a degree in Dental Hygiene.
She worked as a Dental Hygienist in Evansville for 30 years. She was a past President of the Indiana State Dental Hygienist Association.
Marty was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Darmstadt where she was in the PTL, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and sang in the choir. She was a former elected member of the Scott Township Advisory Board. Marty loved to play golf at Oak Meadow Country Club. She cherished her time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very fond of her cat, Tootsie.
Preceded in death by second husband, August Koch, and first husband, Ivan Christmas.
Surviving family includes, daughters, Shelley Christmas Wargel (Bob) and Cathy Christmas Butler (Rhett); grandchildren, Ashley White (Dayne), Chelsea Rexing (Lee), Heath Butler (Grace) and Garrett Butler; great-grandchildren, Parker, Carson, and Calvin White, Charlie, Hank, Lyle, and Lucy Rexing, and Bruce Butler; and sister, Marilyn Haberkost.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Darmstadt or Heritage Hospice.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Trinity Lutheran Darmstadt, officiated by Pastor Stan Temme, and live-streamed at www.facebook.com/trinitylutherandarmstadt. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Darmstadt. Friends may visit Wednesday, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
