Marilyn Hiatt 78, of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Heart to Heart Hospice Center. She was surrounded by her three daughters, as she peacefully went to be with her Lord. She was born on April 25, 1944 in Muncie, Indiana. She grew up on a farm in Carmel, Indiana.
Marilyn graduated from Broad Ripple High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from University of Evansville with her Bachelor’s degree and earned her Master’s degree in Art Education from Indiana State University. She was an Art Teacher for many years. She also was a caregiver for many babies and children at her in home daycare for more than twenty years.
She was actively involved in church and volunteer work. She also loved to go out dancing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellen and Milton Hiatt, and brother Duane Hiatt.
She is survived by her daughters, Carrie Webb of Evansville, IN, Holly Webb of Bradenton, FL, and Leslie (Brian) Bell of Cumming, GA; four grandchildren, Tristan McCune, Sarah Murphy, Brian Bell Jr, London Bell, and great granddaughter, Scarlett Murphy; sister Rosalie (Chuck) Davis; close friend and stepmother to her three daughters, Joyce Webb.
The family would like to thank Dr. Karl Sash and the wonderful nurses and doctors at Heart to Heart Hospice in Evansville, IN for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Alexander East Funeral Home in Evansville, IN on Monday, July 18, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Marilyn chose to donate her body to the IU Medical Center.
