Margaret Lucille “Lucy” Lambert, 89, of Evansville, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at Golden LivingCenter – Woodlands. She was born April 25, 1929, in Pulaski, TN to the late Samuel Harvey and Willie (Griffis) Whitehead.
She and her husband, Rick, loved to laugh and always wanted everyone to join in on the fun. They loved visiting flea markets together. Lucille loved decorating, crafting, crocheting, and was a skilled seamstress. She also loved singing hymns and reading her Bible. She was a perfectionist in everything she did. Lucille worked in politics for 22 years with Pigeon Township Trustee and was a member of New Hope Pentecostal Church in Henderson, KY.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Richard T. Lambert; son, Robert Rigney, Jr.; brothers, Paul and John M. Whitehead; and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Llamas of San Diego, CA; step-daughter, Vicki Morrison; step-sons, Tom “Butch” Lambert and Mike Lambert; grandchildren, Trish, Denise, Jennifer, Cheryl, Misty, Michelle and Rachel; 15 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great, great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Sam (Sloan) in OH, Harvey (Glenn) in KY, and Connie (Gail) in TN, and many nieces and nephews, including John W. Whitehead in VA.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Golden LivingCenter - Woodlands for their special care and friendship to Lucille.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM, Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Tony Payne, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
