Obituary of Kathleen "Kathy" R. West
Kathy R. West, 76, of Evansville, Indiana, passed peacefully on July 21, 2023. She was born March 19, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana to the late William C. and Bertha E. Pascoe. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother and aunt to her family. Kathy graduated from the University of Evansville with a Business Degree. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority and was a cheerleader at UE. She graduated from Bosse High School in 1965. Kathy was a member of the American Business Women’s Association, President of PTA/PTO, USA National Swimming Official, Head Coach/Originator of Memorial High School Boys Swim Team, EVSC teacher and faithful member of the Methodist Temple where she taught Sunday School for many years. What brought her most joy was being with her family. She lived for going to kids and grandkids sporting events and school functions. She loved watching basketball and old westerns. She was also an avid lover of all animals and adored her cocker spaniel, Millie, and her cat, Oscar. Kathy was a loving mother and dedicated to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Robert Taylor. Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Steve West, of 45 years; daughter, Dana Colangelo (Matt), grandsons, Tyler Colangelo and Zachary Colangelo; daughter, Beth Ann Ivie (Sam), granddaughters, Madelyn Ivie and Caroline Ivie; son, Todd W Smith (Julie), granddaughter, Juliana Smith; grandsons, Mason Troutman and Isaac Troutman; and sister, Margaret “Margo” Taylor. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Alexander East Chapel, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. The funeral service will be livestreamed beginning at 10:45 a.m. at www.facebook.com/FuneralStreamUSA. Friends may visit on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
