Juanita "Nita" (Salyer) Basham

Juanita (Salyer) Basham, 93, of Evansville, IN, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, January 2, 2021. Nita, as she was known, was born on June 8, 1927 in Lyons County, Kentucky to the late Ollie L. and Willie Salyer.
Juanita graduated from Reitz High School in 1945 and married Charles E. Basham in 1946. She was a faithful member of Forest Hills Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for a number of years. She served in a number of areas in the church such as the Choir, Pulpit Committee, ABW Missions, vacation bible school, Chairman of the Kitchen, Prayer Team and Christian Board of Education. She was a seamstress in earlier years and later ran her own Demonstration Business from her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Charles “Red” E. Basham; sister, Lou Jenkins, brothers, Harold Salyer, Clipp Salyer, and Charlie Salyer.
Juanita is survived by her son, Brad Basham (Sandra), daughter, Brenda L. Mullis (Larry); grandchildren, Jarad B. Basham (Ericka), Sarah Will (Zachary), Zachary Mullis (Melissa), William Luke Mullis (Jan) and Tim Mullis (Ashley); great grandchildren, Brookelyn Basham, Wesley Basham, Landon Will, Chase Will, Allie Mullis, Braylen Mullis, Judah Mullis, Luna Mullis and Finn Mullis, Annie Todd, Joey Qilliams, Azura Sinnett and Abby Sinnett; great great grandchildren, Ava Bostic and Ashten Pennington; and three nieces.
Private services will be held.
The family would like to thank the River Bend (Pine Haven) Nursing home and Heritage Hospice for their loving care of Juanita.
