Joyce Fay Walker

Mrs. Joyce Fay (Alexander) Walker of Newburgh, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the age of 94. Joyce was born on April 3, 1929 in Evansville, Indiana to Charles and Margaret Alexander and one older brother Kenneth Alexander. Joyce was a 1947 graduate of Central High School and maintained many valuable friendships with classmates throughout her lifetime. She was a homemaker and after raising her children worked as a teller for many years at Citizens National Bank. Joyce was an active member of St. Johns United Church of Christ (downtown). She enjoyed learning new skills across a variety of arts and crafts. She will also be remembered for her excellent cooking skills and love for her family and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Harold, her parents Charles and Margaret, her brother Kenneth, and her son in law David Olliver. She is survived by her children, Stephen (Sally), Karen (Bill) Wimpelberg, Linda Olliver, and Julie Hungate (Doug Voss), seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Jenny, and many nieces and nephews. Joyce's funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue in Evansville, officiated by Pastor Jeff Long. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
