He was retired from the railroad. Jimmie was very patriotic and served 4 years in the Navy for the country he loved. He loved his family and was an awesome and loving husband, father and grandpa. He was also a Scout Master.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Redding and brother, Dennis Redding.
Jimmie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marilyn Whitson Redding; daughter, Kathleen Edwards (Jeff); son, Jeff Redding (Amanda); grandchildren, Brandon Edwards, Jackson, Grace and Charlotte Redding; mother, Irene Sorrels; brothers, Michael, Keith; and sister, Barbara.
Services will be 3:00PM Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Alexander West Chapel. Friends may visit, Wednesday, August 8, 2012 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
