She enjoyed gardening and spent the summers in her one-acre garden. She loved birds and really enjoyed feeding and watching them. Jean lived her life for her family and greatly loved her children and grandchildren, four of which she helped raise. She also really enjoyed having company and always welcomed everyone with her good cooking.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Tarr, Sr.; daughter, Connie Lawson; grandson, Larry "JJ" Orth; and siblings, Emily Grounds, Emil Wolf, Richard Wolf, and Ann Wolf.
She is survived by her children, Carol Boeke, Linda (Daniel) Welte, Everett Tarr, Jr., and Terri Tarr; grandchildren, Shawn (Tim) Robey, Deborah Tarr, Curt Welte, Elmer (April) Boeke, Jr., Dana (Brent) Edwards, and Eyvette Tarr; great-grandchildren, Anjel Hillenbrand, Jordan Welte, Quentin Boeke, Eli Edwards and Kate Edwards; sister, Ruth Adamec; and her dog and friend, Thunder.
Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Charleston Farber, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends visited Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
