Obituary of James Harold Wright
James Harold Wright, 89, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Deaconess Hospital. He was born June 7, 1927, in Evansville, to the late Jewell G. and Elizabeth (Boren) Wright. He retired from Wright Motors, where he worked in the body shop for many years and previously worked at Shane’s Manufacturing. He was a World War II veteran, Past Master of Lessing Masonic Lodge and member of the Hadi Shrine Temple. He was formerly a member of North Park Baptist Church and volunteered for and supported the Salvation Army. He enjoyed camping, gardening, playing cards and woodworking. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elaine Wright, and sons, Michael L. and Gerald W. Wright. He is survived by daughter, Nancy E. Stephenson (William R.); son, Robert H. Wright (Kristy); daughter, Leeca K. Bragg (Clifford); grandchildren, Mike, John, Amber, Jamie, Matthew, Dawn, Robert, Derek, C.J., Chris, Rachael, William and Michelle; several great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, and daughters-in-law, Kathy Wright and Tina Wright. The family would like to thank Les and Kim Wilhite, Jeremy Dodridge, and Kirstie Horn for their kindness during his lifetime. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday May 12, 2017, at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Road, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park (Masonic Gardens). Friends may visit 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 11, 2017, with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
