James "Jim" Worley

Jim Worley, 72, of Evansville, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Evansville on December 3, 1948 to the late James and Rose Worley.
He graduated from Central High School and joined the U.S. Navy. Jim was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Department. In his retirement, he refurbished a Cape Dory sailboat and thoroughly enjoyed sailing it on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes. He had many hobbies over the years; among them, fishing, hunting, shooting competitions, and his Harley Davidson.
Jim is survived by his wife of 37 years, Patty Worley; daughter, Shannon Heck; and grandson, Trandon McCray. God gave them many blessings as a loving family.
The family wants to thank Dr. Browning, his staff, the caregivers at St. Vincent Hospital, and Tracy, his nurse from Southern Care Hospice. Also, a special thanks for all of his support, Jim Heck, his brother-in-law and friend.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Holy Rosary Church officiated by Father Bernie Etienne, followed by a Celebration of Life with family and friends in the Parish Hall. Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
