James Kamber Stahl, a remarkable individual whose life was marked by dedication, love, and an unwavering spirit of generosity, passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on April 10, 1952, in Correy, PA, James's early years were shaped by the loving guidance of his parents, Minna Kamber Stahl and Jack Mendel Stahl, and his sister, Marci Stahl Roe. He embarked on a journey of lifelong learning and teaching, graduating from Ithica University, and furthering his education with a master’s degree in biology from Indiana University.
James's professional life was as rich and varied as his personal interests. He distinguished himself as a professor and as the esteemed men’s head swimming coach at the University of Evansville. His passion for knowledge and growth led him to a successful career in pharmaceutical sales, culminating in his role as Vice President of Lighthouse Business. Beyond his professional accomplishments, James was deeply committed to community service. He was an active member of BNI, lending his expertise and enthusiasm in various capacities.
However, it was in the realms of sports and mentorship that James truly left an indelible mark. An experienced soccer referee and coach, he was a mentor and friend to many, touching lives with his wisdom, patience, and warm-hearted nature. Above all, James was an extraordinary father and husband. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with his beloved wife, Karen Adcock Stahl, and his daughters, Emily Stahl Brune, Ashley Stahl McMackin, and Heather Stahl Hannaford. His love and guidance also extended to his sister, Marci.
James's legacy is one of kindness, patience, fun, and hard work - a testament to a life well-lived and full of purpose. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by those who were fortunate to have known him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Minna Stahl.
Family and friends are invited to honor James's life and legacy at his funeral service, which will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Alexander Funeral Home – North Chapel. Visitation will take place from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by the service at 1 pm. The ceremony will conclude with the interment at Alexander Memorial Park, where James will be laid to rest.
