Hattie Jo (Busby) Stewart, 85, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born July 11, 1930, in Henderson County, KY to the late Joseph and Hattie Grace (Holder) Wolfe.
She worked as an instructor for Shane Manufacturing for 17 years and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed traveling all over the United States and loved to cook. She loved children and spent many years teaching them at Sunday school.
Hattie was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George Busby; daughters, Sharon (Busby) McCoy and Donna Busby; and granddaughter, Cindy Gillenwater.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Marvin L. Stewart, Sr.; children, Karen (Tom) Barron, Glenda (Fred) Tieken, Steve (Carol) Busby, Kim (Mark) Weiss, and Mark (Reva) Busby; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Esther Moody; brother, Leroy (Nell) Wolfe; stepchildren, Marvin Lee (Phyllis) Stewart, Jr., Wilford (Betty) Stewart, Elvira Demetro, and Diane (Tom) Barnes; 13 stepgrandchildren; and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, October 9, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Pastor Chet Todd, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Friday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
