Eileen E. Hyde, 91, of Evansville passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 19, 2024. She was born September 25, 1932 in Belize City, British Honduras (now Belize), Central America to the late John Bradley and Rosita Rodriguez.
Eileen showed her love for others through her culinary talents, delighting family and friends with her savory dishes and gracious hospitality. Even at the age of 91, she continued to nurture her garden, showcasing her green thumb. Her home was a vibrant haven adorned with a variety of flowers and plants, reflecting her love for nature.
Eileen's unique, magnetic spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be remembered as kind, gracious, smart, giving, never complaining, and always pleasant to be around. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her children, Wallace (Rhonda) Hyde, Lizabeth (Ed) Chang, Sheila (Greg) Cobb and John Jr. (Wenjie) Hyde; grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Conley, Jeremy Chang, Jessica Cobb, Hillary Chang and Jaren Hyde; and great-grandchildren, John Conley, Elijah Conley, Claire Conley and David Baker.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; and loving husband of 60 years, John R. Hyde.
Friends and family may visit from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Tuesday June 25, 2024 at Alexander North Chapel, 4200 Stringtown Rd, Evansville, IN, and from 9:00 a.m. until service time at church on Wednesday.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 26, 2024 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 613 Cherry St. Evansville, IN, with final resting place to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery next to her husband.
