Doris M. Deutsch, 91, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born February 5, 1922, in Evansville, to the late Walter J. and Elizabeth (Egli) Herman.
She graduated from Reitz High School and Lockyear Business College. She worked for Globe Bosse World in the Accounting Department until 1941. She worked in accounting for Missouri Valley Bridge Company at the Evansville Shipyards during WWII. In 1944, she moved to Waco, TX and married Charles E. Deutsch on October 13th (which was Friday the 13th). When they returned home to Evansville she began working for Whirlpool as a secretary in the Engineering Department. She then welcomed her two daughters and became a stay at home mom. In her later years, she was Secretary/Treasurer of Darden Industries Inc. in Newburgh. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ on Michigan Street.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Fern "Fernie" Dersch; and brother-in-law, Leonard "Mick" Dersch.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years; daughters, Debra K. (Jeffrey) Bosley and Darlene R. (Stephen) Dycus; grandchildren, Rachel (Scott) Wambach, Brian Bosley and Dawn (Alex) Wells; and great-grandson, Jenson Wells.
By nature, during her whole life, Doris was a very private person. The family prays that everyone will understand that they are honoring Doris' wishes in having private services.
