Debra S. Betz Powell

Debra S. Powell, 57, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was born November 8, 1953, in Evansville. Debra and her husband owned a local construction company in Evansville and she was an avid sports fan. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard A. Betz, Jr. Debra is survived by her husband of 17 years, Shawn D. Powell; daughters, Jennifer R. Chandler and Lisa M. Wilke; grandchildren, Jake and Taylor; mother, Betty J. Betz; and sister, Donna J. Claybrooks. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Rev. Ed Young. Friends may begin to visit Sunday at 12:00 PM and are encouraged to stay for the service and reception. Debra’s wishes were to be cremated and placed next to her father at Alexander Memorial Park.
