David was born on June 13, 1950 to his parents, Ira and Helen Rodgers Mullen. He attended North High School until he proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam war in the 577th Engineer Battalion. While in Vietnam, David received a Bronze Medal of Valor for his dedication and sacrifice. Upon his return to Indiana in 1970, he joined the Laborer Local 561.
David met the love of his life, Diana Elizabeth Pullman, in 1970 in Evansville through mutual friends. Diana made an honest man out of him in January 1971. They designed and built their dream forever home together in Marion, Kentucky in 1994, which they both filled endlessly with memories for their grandchildren and family. They were married for 41 years until Diana's passing October 19, 2012.
David was an exceptional conversationalist who could talk you into a corner in a round room, collector of all kinds, farmer and wearer of MANY hats. He was a Shriner (42 years), a Mason (43 years), a cattle farmer (30 years), husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, a loving and reliable friend, The Westside Donkey Whisperer and shit stirrer/prankster. He was most proud of his farm, and was happiest baling hay for his cows on his John Deere 4020 tractor. He loved chasing chickens, riding hogs, fishing and beagle hunting. He loved his cows and always affectionately referred to them as "his babies.” He will be remembered for for his occasional rodeo clown moments, hard work and intriguing conversations. David always had something interesting, if not hilarious, to share. Things like "Sylvester Stallone is a draft-dodging pornstar," among others and was a huge Trump supporter.
David is survived by his daughter, Brandy A Hall (Chris) of Evansville; [redacted] ; grandchildren [redacted] , Dustin, Davy, Tyler, Alex, Jack, Grayson, Eli, Ryen; great grandchildren Trinity, Callie, Maverick, Maximus; and his brothers, Randy Mullen of Evansville, [redacted] of Statesboro, GA; and sister, [redacted] of Evansville.
