Darlene grew up on Evansville’s West Side and graduated from Reitz High School in 1957. She married her husband Donald in 1958 and was married 60 wonderful years. Darlene liked going out to eat with all of her friends. She also liked watching Hallmark movies. Darlene attended St. Mark U.C.C. for 65 years until it closed in 2019.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Ronald; and brother, Bob Hape.
Darlene is survived by her son, Richard Mullen; daughter, Donna Sue (David) Myers; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 4 brothers, Michael (Judy) Hape, Danny (Janie) Hape, Bill (Bonnie) Hape, and Steve (Linda) Hape; 2 sisters, Barbara Myers, and Carol (Kenny) Rueger; and special friends, Tom and Elaine Hayse.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Vanderburgh Humane Society.
Friends and family may visit on Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 W. Illinois Street, Evansville, IN.
A funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024 at Alexander West Chapel officiated by Pastor Gene Backes.
Darlene’s final resting place will be beside her husband at Alexander Memorial Park.
