Bobby Lauderdale, 88, of Evansville, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at The Terrace at Solarbron. He was born August 15, 1929, in Evansville, IN to the late Rollie and Rosa May (Wilson) Lauderdale.
Bob graduated from Central High School in 1947 then attended Industrial Arts where his love of cars grew. He later retired from Glidden Coatings as a Manager of Maintenance Coatings. He was baptized at Willow Street Baptist Church. Bob enjoyed track events and was a member of Greater Evansville Runners and Walkers where he served on the Board for many years. He was also an avid member of SWIRCA, YMCA, Color Guard of the Hadi Shrine and Sword of Bunker Hilland. Bob received his 50 year pins from the Masonic Lodge Evansville #64 and Scottish Rite. In 2004, he was awarded the Posey County Senior Citizen of the Year award.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Dolores (Ruschmeier Decker) Lauderdale; and brother-in-law, Robert Ruschmeier (Georgia).
Bob is survived by his daughters, Bobbie Cunningham (Brad Hudson) and Sandy Cawthon (Greg); brother, Donald Lauderdale (Carolyn); grandchildren, Julie Powell and William Culiver; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 2, 2018, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Pastor Terry Farmer, with burial in St. Paul’s UCC German Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home, followed by a Masonic Service by Lodge 64 at 6:30 PM.
