

A native of Evansville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Charles Settlemire and Mary Elizabeth Christian Settlemire. She was married to Harold James Wiesman, Sr., her husband of fifty-seven years, who preceded her in death February 14, 1991. Mr. Wiesman was a well known principal within the Evansville school system.
Blanche was a graduate of Bosse High School and earned her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Education at the University of Evansville. She taught in Evansville schools, including Howard Roosa, Rhinelander and Highland Schools, for thirty-six years retiring from Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation in 1972. Her memberships included Evansville Retired Teachers Association and Indiana State Retired Teachers Association. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and educator who spent her life caring for others. She was a member of Methodist Temple.
She is survived by her sons, Dr. H. James Wiesman, Jr. of Columbia, TN and Thomas D. (Valerie) Wiesman, Sr. of Franklin, TN; granddaughters, Linsie Neale Wiesman, Evelyn Lawrence Wiesman (Chris) Booth, Linden Hume Wiesman (Greg) Ryan, Stratton Jameson Wiesman; grandson, Thomas Daniel (Rebecca) Wiesman, Jr.; step-grandson, Joshua Daniel Dunn; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, January 28, 2011, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Chris Neikirk, with entombment in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Fitts, Dr. Steve Simmons, Campbell Ridley, Dr. Raiborn McGee, Dr. Dennis McGee, Bill Thorne, Deborah Patterson, Jennifer Camron, Carrie Angus and Joanna Uzzell.
