Parents Everett “Bud” and Jane C. Ott, older brother, Michael E. Ott and wife Teresa Ott preceded Jack in death.
Jack is survived by his partner, Candace Jennings, children Isis Wanderer (Scott Melzer), Christopher Ott (Heather), Jennifer Vanderhoof, brothers, David (Lari) Ott, Patrick Ott, sister-in-law Genna Ott (Gregg) Hurd, nieces and nephews, John M. Ott, Alex F. Ott, Eleanor M. Ott, Beth Red Bird, David E. Ott, Kathryn H. Ott, and Benjamin P. Ott, as well as their significant others and children.
Jack was born on November 23, 1948, in Reno, Nevada and a large part of his childhood was spent living on a small farm in Haysville, Kansas caring for a variety of animals, with his three brothers and parents, before moving to Boulder, Colorado, where he graduated from Boulder High School, earned a bachelors degree in Art at University of Colorado at Boulder, and spent many years of his life.
Jack was a loving, family oriented man, with many talents and interests. Jack always wanted to be remembered as a “straight shooter.” He enjoyed nature, hiking and running for many years. He loved gardening and was a voracious reader. Jack and his second wife, Teresa moved to Estes Park, CO building and remodeling at least 3 different homes close to Rocky Mountain Park which he loved. Jack’s professional endeavors included decades of running his own successful home remodeling business and in later years working on the management team alongside Teresa, and running a full resort business for park visitors.
