Longtime resident of Estes Park, Cynthia Deats, passed away November 13, 2018, surrounded by her family. Cyd, as many knew her, was born April 30, 1953, in Nebraska to James F. Banker, Sr. and Joan C. Cook. She and her family moved to Estes Park during the summer of 1966. Cyd graduated from Estes Park High School in 1971. She married Steve Deats in the fall of 1974. Her children, Erin Deats Tice and Dan Deats, and grandchildren, Mae and Austin Tice, were her greatest joy, Cyd enjoyed golfing, reading, hiking and creating stained glass, but above all, she loved spending time with her family. Cyd’s strong work ethic took her through several careers with prominent community employers including the Trail Gazette, Estes Park Bank, Park National Bank, Estes Park School District and retired from the Town of Estes Park as the Deputy Town Clerk. She is preceded in death by her father, mother and brother, Patrick Banker. Cyd is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren as well as her siblings: James Banker and wife Dodi of Estes Park, CO; Sharon Schone and husband Dennis of Rapid City, SD; Barbara James of Lakewood, WA; and Patrick’s wife Amy of Centennial, CO.

A Rosary and evening Vigil service will be held November 27th at 7pm at Our Lady of the Mountains Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Church Wednesday, November 28th at 10am.
