Calla came to the United States when she was four years old. She was educated on the east coast in her youth and later moved to the Los Angeles area where she met and married Carl Haack in 1948.
Calla graduated from UCLA with a degree in Education and Languages. She served for several years as Grand Commander of the United States Federation of the International Order of Co-Masons and was respected worldwide as a humanitarian. She was a yoga instructor for several years as well. Here in Estes Park, Calla worked at Eagle Rock School with teens, striving to make a difference in the world. She had a great love of the outdoors and instantly fell in love with Estes Park which has been her home for the past thirty years.
Calla is the daughter of Oscar and Emmy winning Art Director William Ferrari, and Yvonne K. Ferrari, former model/buyer for Chanel of Paris. Calla was predeceased by one daughter and is survived by two children, five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, along with many dear friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Calla’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nursing staff of Estes Park Health for their kindness and exceptional care. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 23 at Estes Valley Community Center on the lower level at 5:00 PM, for family and friends to honor her life and their special ties to her.
