Ray Faust, 75, of San Marcos, CA, was born in San Diego, CA in 1949 to James and Mauree Faust. Ray lost his father as a teenager, and his mother later remarried.

Ray spent his youth moving with his family across the country while his father served in the military, with fond memories of time spent in Honolulu, HI and Key West, FL.

Ray graduated from Herbert Hoover High School before being drafted into the Army and serving in the Vietnam War. Ray was proud of his service and enjoyed recounting stories as a paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne. Following the war, Ray spent many years working on tuna boats before starting his own business as a mobile mechanic in San Diego County.

Ray was preceded in death by his father, James Otis Faust, mother Mauree Elizabeth Gallimore (Willie Gallimore), and brother Eugene Lewis Faust. He is survived by his son, Matthew James Faust and grand-dog Phillip, brothers Jim Faust (Bernadette Faust) and Charlie Faust, nephew Joe Faust (Corinne Faust), niece Rachael Faust (Rodolfo “Jones” Sánchez), grandnephews Elio and Enzo Sánchez, as well as several cousins and many friends.
