Jose was born May 16, 1944 to his parents, Jose and Josefina Luna Esqueda in Ibarra, Guanajuato. Jose became a Police Officer in San Felipe, Guanajuato. On November 15, 1976, he married Ma.Luisa, an accountant. In 1978, they moved to the United states where they settled in Valley Center. He immediately became a farmer, with a specialty in the avocado groves. They later had three children whom he loved. He always made sure he provided for his family.
Jose is survived by his wife, Ma.Luisa Luna; his children, Gerardo Luna, Jose Luna and Eloisa Velazquez. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
Jose was a spiritual man who loved to read the bible. He loved to go to church and listen to the word of God. He would always tell his son Jose, "Pay attention Jose!" His first granddaughter, Emily impacted his life. He did not like cats, but became a cat owner because Emily loved cats. He would even let the cat sleep on top of him. He would sit Emily in a bin full of grapefruit and feed her grapefruit. He drove Emily around the avocado grove in his work truck. He was a proud grandfather. In 2014, due to illnesses he was admitted to Palomar Vista Healthcare Center where he loved to play BINGO. He used the money that he won in BINGO to purchase candy, chocolates, juices, and cookies for his grandchildren. He loved his grandchildren with all his heart. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved to joke, laugh, and eat KFC. Thank you Palomar Vista Healthcare Center for taking care of him.
