Peter Kowalik, 90, of North Port, went home to be with the Lord on August 29, 2022. Born in Poland and lived most of his life in Ukraine before moving to America in 1989. Peter was a talented carpenter who loved using his many skills to bless others. He served for numerous years as a pastor and music director of his local church in Ukraine. Upon arrival to USA, Peter was one of the founders of Slavic Baptist Church of Syracuse, NY.
Peter was predeceased by his son, Vladimir and daughter-in-law Anna. Surviving are Maria, his wife of 70 years; children, Nadezhda (Roman) Kaskov, Sergey (Luba), Leonid (Luba), Tatyana (Val) Gruzdov, daughter-in-law Valentina;
18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. His commitment to Christ and dedication to his wife and family was a great example to his loved ones.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, September 3, at 10 am at
Lemon Bay Funeral Home 2 Buchans Landing Englewood, FL 34223
Peter will be laid to rest following the service at Gulf Pines Memorial Park 2401 Englewood Rd. Engelwood, FL 34223
