Jack Coleman, age 77, unexpectedly passed away of natural causes on Monday, July 25, 2022, in his home of Englewood, Florida. Jack was born on June 15, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio and moved to Rochester, New York at the age of seven. He lived in Florida for most of his adult life and was a long term resident of Englewood. He is predeceased by his parents John P. Coleman Sr. and Wilma (May) Coleman. He is survived by his daughters, Amy (Douglas) Gardner of Rochester, New York, and Jennifer (Patrick) Krey of Clarence, New York. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Emma, Cecelia, and Bridget Gardner and Harrison, Franklin, Violet, Mary, and Bingham Krey, as well as many friends.
Jack was a veteran of the Air Force who served in Vietnam, a lover of cars, an avid book reader, and a business owner with an accounting practice for 30 years. However he believed his most important job was being Dad, Papa, and Grandpa to the people that meant most to him. He loved watching and supporting his grandchildren in all of their endeavors. You could always find Jack wearing a colorful Columbia fishing shirt and enjoying some Breath Savers mints. Jack would frequently spill whatever he was drinking when talking about something he was passionate about, one of the many humorous moments his friends and family will cherish. Jack will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Services and interment will be held privately at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Headstrong (www.getheadstrong.org/donate) to support mental health services for veterans.
