Constance T. Dowrey

Constance (Connie) Tobin Dowrey, 80, of Venice, Florida went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 23, 2023, surrounded by her family. Connie is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Gary L. Dowrey, her brother David G. Tobin and his wife Holly of Charlestown, RI, her daughter-in-law Margo H. Douglas of Westerly, RI, her son Michael A. Douglas and his wife Laura of Brooklyn, CT, her son Stephen A. Douglas of Marietta, GA, her step-son Gary M. Dowrey and his wife Susan of Blackstone, MA, her step-son Robert (Bobby) E. Dowrey and his wife Susan of North Stonington CT, and her step-daughter Rebecca (Becky) Jacoinski and her husband Larry of Westerly, RI. Connie is also survived by her 12 grandchildren Madelyn, Margo, Joshua, Colton, Mara, Sean, Beth, Heather, Grace, Brooke, Jack, Luke, Zachary, and Alex, and 2 great grandchildren, Oliver and Lucian. Connie will also be fondly remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents, George E. and Lois M. Tobin of Bradford, RI, her brother Ned Tobin of Port Charlotte, FL, her brother Kenneth E. Tobin of Bradford, RI, and her firstborn son Thomas H. Douglas, Jr. of Westerly, RI.

Connie was raised in Westerly, RI and attended the Westerly Public Schools. She trained and earned her certification as an X-ray Technician at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT, and she worked for many years as an X-ray Technician for Dr. A. J. Elliott and The Westerly Hospital in Westerly, RI, and Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. She retired in 2014. Connie enjoyed quilting, the beach, and spending time with her family and numerous friends. Connie also committed a life of service on the alter guilds of Christ Episcopal Church in Westerly, RI and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Venice, FL.

A memorial service in Connie’s honor will take place at 10 AM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Venice, FL. A Celebration of Life will take place at Christ Episcopal Church in Westerly, RI on June 17,2023 at 11:00 am. Memorial donations in Connie’s name may be made to the Christ Episcopal Church, 7 Elm St., Westerly, Rhode Island, 02891
