Robert "Bob" Patrick Spindler

Bob said he lived a charmed life mysteriously guided by many fortunate strokes of serendipity. A very lucky man! Survived by his best friend and wife Kathy; children Devin, Robb and Celeste; grandchildren Brooke, Petra, Aaron, Natalie, Gwen, Evan and Beckham; brother Barry, much-loved sister Melanie and brother-in-law Bob. Also survived by nieces Lauren, Cora, Tess, Shannon and Coleen; and nephews Rob, Liam, Stephen and Harry. Predeceased by his brother Bill and his parents June and Murray.

Growing up in Aurora, Colorado, he attended public schools there and graduated from Aurora Central High School and Regis University. He escaped the horrors of Vietnam and the many perils and pitfalls of the tumultuous 1960s, 70s and 80s. After a 20-year career at Mountain Bell, he accepted a buyout at AT&T’s divestiture. He then joined Kathy in her trade association management firm which continues to this day. In their free time, they enjoyed hiking and explored all seven continents.

Nearing retirement and unable to continue running, Bob turned to yoga and later began teaching. He taught yoga to thousands of seniors throughout San Diego over the course of 17 years. He thought he could teach into his 90s but was brought down by pulmonary fibrosis. Even then he believed he was a very lucky man indeed!
