Betty Jean Byrd

Betty Byrd, 92, of Encinitas, CA, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim. She loved to sing and was a member of the choir for many years at the Solana Beach Presbyterian Church and was also a Sweet Adeline. A retired telephone company employee, Betty remained active following her retirement with her many volunteer endeavors: life member of Soroptimist International; serving on the boards of MAEGA - Mexican American Educational Guidance Association (providing scholarships within the San Dieguito High School district), the North County Parkinson's Support Group, Tremble Clefs San Diego (Parkinson's signing program), and the Boys & Girls Club of San Dieguito Foundation; as well as volunteering on the High Country Villas Social Committee which included tending bar right up till her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at 3pm at the Clubhouse at High Country Villas in Encinitas, Ca. All are welcome.
