ALLAN, Virginia "Ginny" Ann Carter, age 74, of Palmetto Florida passed away peacefully on July 3, 2016. Virginia was born in Jackson TN in 1942 and moved to Florida in 1963. Virginia is survived by her Sister Jean Carter (Jackson TN), her two sons Harry Allan (Brentwood TN) and Rick Allan (Douglasville, GA), her four grandchildren Drew Allan, Lee Allan, Jared Nicoulin, and Brenden Allan, as well as her three great grandchildren Hudson Allan, Brayden Nicoulin and Kaeson Nicoulin. Virginia attended Memphis State University, Draughns Business School, University or Florida and Eckerd College. Virginia served her family and our community for over 24 years with the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council beginning her career as a book keeper in 1975. Following many professional successes, Virginia finished her career as the Finance Officer for the TBRPC & Area Agency on Aging. Virginia loved to read and play golf with her friends. She also enjoyed a good laugh while spending time with her family. Virginia always set a good example for her sons. She taught us all to have faith, that hard work builds character, dreams are important and hope never disappoints. She never failed to let our family know that she loved us. Virginia always did her best and stayed true to her strength to the very last moment. As God receives a new Angel in Virginia we give thanks for our mom, our grandmother and our great grandmother. A life well lived in service to others. We know that peace is with her now and love of her family awaits. The family would like to invite friends and family to join us in a celebration of life on Saturday July 30th at 10:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time) located at the Groover Funeral Home 1400 36th Avenue East, Ellenton, Florida 34222. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Tidewell Hospice House Bradenton Florida in remembrance of Virginia Allan. A special "Thank You" to all of the wonderful Angels at Tidewell Hospice House from the Allan family.
