Ruth M. Huxted

Ruth M. Huxted, 71, of Palmetto passed away on June 30, 2010. Ruth was born September 1, 1938 in Saskatchewan, Canada. She is survived by her husband Dwayne Huxted, son Brad Huxted, sister Mary Wasylkoski, brother Mervin Paterson, two granddaughters Xena and Dezarae Huxted, and her sister-in- law Diane Kerr. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Kimberly D. Huxted, who passed away on September 5, 2009, and by her dear friend Dee Boothe, who passed away on May 17, 2009.

The Huxteds moved to Florida in 1978 from Canada. Ruth and her husband Dwayne started their own company, Kerr Construction, Inc. dba Huxted Tunneling. Ruth was the Vice President of the company until her daughter joined the family business in 1996. Ruth loved to go to dinner and on shopping trips with her daughter Kimberly, dear friends Nancy and Allen Schoefield and sister in law Diane. Ruth and Kim loved to take trips to Canada to see family members Cory and Natalie Huxted and friends Judy and Harry Northcott and Pete and Linda Martin. Ruth’s passing is felt by her family and many dear friends who will miss her tremendously. Ruth we love you and will miss you.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 17 at 10:00 AM at Mansion Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 1400 36th Avenue East, Ellenton, Florida 34222. The family requests memorial donations may be made to her granddaughter’s trust fund, which will be announced at a later date.
