Caroline Jeanette Keen

Caroline Jeannette Ray Keen was born at home in Ruskin Florida on February 8, 1946, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 16, 2022. Caroline was preceded in death by her father Shelby Ray, her mother Inez Ray, her infant brother Duanice Ray, her brother Edward Ray, and the love of her life Silas Keen.

Caroline married Silas on November 7, 1964. Silas was in the army at the time, so she came to Keentown and stayed with her new sister in law Betty Glassburn.

Caroline was a fulltime wife and mother for several years. She did work outside the home, cleaning houses and she babysat for friends and family.

Caroline was a school bus driver in Manatee county for 18 years in the Duette Community, beginning in 1980, where she had the opportunity to care for and love on all the children she picked up. She also was a caregiver to her parents, and in laws.

Caroline had a heart of gold and was always putting others first and taking care of her family.

Caroline is survived by her sister Shirley Brown and nephew Jason (Lori), daughter Sara Spencer (Robert), grandchildren Jacob, Joshua, and Macayla, daughter Veronica Keen, grandchildren Alyssa, Yasmine, daughter Jackie Sheley (David), grandchildren Reagan, Ryleigh, four great grandchildren; Silas Spencer, Audrey Spencer, Grayson Spencer, Nayeli Warrick and great grand baby number five is on the way. Caroline was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Services for Caroline will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 with the Visitation starting at 11:00 AM and the Funeral Service starting at 12:00 PM. Services will be at Dry Prairie Baptist Church, 40849 FL-62, Duette, FL 34219. A Committal Service will occur immediately following the funeral at Keen Cemetery.
