Barbara L Burnett

The Family of Barbara L. Burnett (formerly of Queens New York, the District of Columbia/Maryland and Parrish Florida) announce her passing on Saturday June 23, 2018, at the age of 89. Mom was the beloved wife of the late James Robert Burnett for 55 years. She was the mother of Jo K.B. Panas and the late Paul S. Burnett, the mother-in-law of Michael R. Panas and Barbara Yarbrough Burnett, and grandmother to Crystal Burnett, Tommy Burnett, and the late Paul Burnett. In addition, Mom is survived by numerous great grandchildren, as well as a great great grandchild. Prior to moving to the DC area at a young age, Mom would go to summer camp in Cuttybackville NY, and would always mention her friendship with Beverly (Bubbles) Sills. Both girls spent several summers learning to swim in the lake. Mom would also talk about going to work at the age of 15 in an office, and continued this field of work until her retirement from the Prince George’s County Maryland Court System. That was where she picked up the nickname “BB.” The family will be welcoming guests to the Groover Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 27 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Interment to be attended privately by family and will be immediately following.
