Rene Ritter

Rene Ritter age 90 of Ellensburg passed peacefully on September 1, 2014.

Rene was born in Austin, Texas to John and Milad Camaron on January 19, 1924. Her early years were spent between Austin and San Antonio before moving to Arrey, New Mexico where she lived with her 'Auntie Drew and Uncle Sebio"

Mom married the love of her life, Chet Ritter on August 28, 1939. They were married 72 years when Dad passed in 2011. Rene and Chet moved to Washington state shortly after they were married and raised their family in the Kittitas Valley.

Rene worked as the cook for the Kittitas School District for many years. Not only did she make sure no student went away hungry, she made most feel they were very, very special to her. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Central Parts before retiring .

Rene and Chet could be seen at most Kittitas High School Basketball games for many years. They were given a life time membership by the Booster Club in honor of their faithful following.

Rene is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Eloisa and brothers John and Jimmy Cameron, husband Chet, daughter Mary Lou Gilmour, granddaughter Laura (Ritter) Love, great-granddaughter Talya Howard and great-grandson Lucas Kristiansen. She is survived by her son Gerry (Kathleen) of Kennewick, Bill (Julie) of Redmond, Son in law Jerry Gilmour of Kittitas, 12 Grandchildren, multiple great and great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to the staff at Royal Vista Care Center who provided wonderful care to our Mother these past years.

A celebration of life will be held at Kittitas Community Church followed by a potluck luncheon Saturday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be sent to the Kittitas High School Booster club or any organization of your choice. Her cremation arrangements are under the direction of Steward & Williams Tribute Center, Ellensburg, WA.
