“Rick” graduated from Howard High School and soon after enlisted in the Army where he was stationed in Wildflecken, Germany. He pursued several career interests throughout his life. Rick was an avid sports fan with a passionate lifelong love for the Redskins. He was a skilled dancer and enjoyed baseball, bowling, fishing, cooking and spending time at the horse track. He had a knack for sharing a plethora of inappropriate jokes, often expressed through his large hat collection. He enjoyed writing poems, submitting and winning several poetry contests through the years. Fondly known as “Slick Rick”, he leaves behind a legacy as “The Man, The Myth, The Legend”.
He will be lovingly missed by his four children, daughter, Jadie Nuttall and wife Kimberly of Tampa, FL; daughter Jennifer “Jen” Lewis and husband Garrett of Littlestown, PA; son Brandon Miskell and wife Stephanie of Hagerstown, MD and daughter Amber Miskell, of Ranson, WV; his four grandchildren Taylor Payne (Jamar), AJ Payne, Jackson Miskell and Kendrick Sewell and one great granddaughter, Harlow Bowers. He is also remembered by his former wife, Andrea Miskell, his brother Ronald “Ron” Miskell and sister Amelia “Amy” Murtaugh. He will be missed by countless cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2pm at Gary L Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21705. A memorial service will be begin at 2:30 pm followed by a memorial gathering.
