On Monday, November 18, 2024, Norma Edith (Lucy) Finkner passed away in Annapolis, Maryland at the age of 76, with complications from pneumonia. Her family will forever feel the void left by her passing.
Born on September 4, 1948, in Baltimore, Maryland, Norma was the daughter of Howard and Norma Lucy. She was a graduate of Lansdowne High School in Maryland. In 1966, she married George Edward Finkner, Jr., and together they raised two daughters, Melissa (Finkner) Casto and Christine (Finkner) Byrne. Norma was a devoted wife and mother, and her family was the center of her life.
Norma lived a full and vibrant life. She was a professional 10-pin bowler and an avid golfer, enjoying both sports in her earlier years. She had a deep love for nature, often finding peace in sunsets by the water, beach walks, and gardening. Her adventurous spirit led her on many cruises to explore new places and cultures. At home, she was an animal lover, adored by her black labs and cats who brought her constant companionship.
A successful businesswoman, Norma built and ran her own financial planning company, Chesapeake Financial Planning and Tax Services. Through her dedication and expertise, she provided thoughtful financial guidance to clients, helping many achieve clarity and confidence in their financial decisions.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Norma Lucy; her husband, George Finkner; and her daughter, Melissa (Finkner) Casto. She is survived by her daughter Christine (Finkner) Byrne, son-in-law Kevin Byrne, her son-in-law Frank Casto, her brother Howard Lucy, and five beloved grandchildren: Katie Byrne, Corey Byrne, Andrew Byrne, Allie Byrne, and Nick Casto. The love and wisdom she brought to their lives will never be forgotten.
A visitation for Norma will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at MMP, Inc., 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, with interment at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to any organization of your choosing, reflecting the kindness and generosity that Norma embodied in her life.
