Margaret "Peggy" Ellen Bensley, age 92, of Gaithersburg, Maryland, formally of Baltimore, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024. Margaret was born in Maryland to her parents, Edwin and Ethel Hitchens. Peggy was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Bensley and the devoted mother of the late Margaret "Peggy" Fitzwater (the late Leonard Fitzwater). Cherished grandmother of Michelle Hallett and the late Michael Fitzwater; dear sister of the late Marie Lowry (the late Hilary), Richard Hitchens (the late Leta Schultz), and Paul Hitchens (the late Betty); Aunt of Gary, Nancy, and the late Hillary, Les, Bernie, and Michael. Also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Peggy will be held at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at MMP, Inc., 7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM where a Celebration of Life service will occur Tuesday, December 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, MD 21075.
