Cathy Hughes

Catherine "Cathy" Hughes, age 66, of Glen Burnie, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Catherine was born March 3, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland to parents Edward and Winfred Guzik. Cathy was the beloved wife of 48 years to Juan Hughes, Sr. and the devoted mother of Chrissy Clifton (Derek) and Juan Hughes, Jr.; dear sister of Debi Greco (Joe), Mary Jane Hansel (Larry), Eddie Guzik (Connie) and the late John Guzik; sister-in-law of Julie McCallister and Albert Hughes; cherished mom mom of Chloe, Emma, Gavin, Addison, and Jon.

Her passions in life included sewing, crocheting, playing the penny slots and of course, her 5 grandchildren. She also loved to travel throughout the United States, cook, and decorate cakes, her icing was the best. If there was one thing that Cathy will be remember for, it was her ability to create a smile upon your face with her small acts of being a mom, wife and friend. She inspired and encouraged all of those she touched.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge, Maryland 21075 (Exit 6 South off Route 100) on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at which time a Catholic Prayer Service will be held. Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc.
