Alexis Nicole Hersh Fobes, 49, of Elkridge, Maryland passed away at home on June 14, 2022 surrounded by her loving family after a valiant fight with cancer. The youngest daughter of Brian Hersh and Linda Hersh, Alexis was born on November 23, 1972 in Miami, Florida and graduated from Miami-Palmetto High School and the University of Massachusetts - Amherst, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Alexis met the love of her life, Tim Fobes, at a Super Bowl party in 1998 and enjoyed 19 wonderful years of marriage. She was passionate about raising their sons, Evan and Brody, always cheering their accomplishments in the classroom and beyond.
Alexis stood apart as a remarkably vibrant person with a magnetic personality and a beautiful smile. She was a fiercely loyal friend who was known for her intelligence, insight and love of life. One of her many nicknames was “Lucky Lex” because she won numerous contests and sweepstakes over the years, with prizes including free trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas.
Alexis served as the longtime Vice President at Pyle & Associates, the only company she ever worked for after graduating from college. She especially enjoyed attending Foo Fighters concerts, traveling, reading and spending quality time with family as well as her favorite dogs, Molly and Moxie.
Alexis is survived by her parents Brian Hersh and Linda Hersh of Miami, Florida; husband Tim Fobes of Elkridge, Maryland; sons Evan and Brody of Elkridge, Maryland; sister Allison Hersh (Kevin) of Savannah, Georgia; brothers Adam Hersh (Vicky) of Quito, Ecuador and Michael Lyons Wier (Deanne) of East Quogue, New York; sister-in-law Holly Hogan (Jeff) of Ocean Pines, Maryland; aunt Laura Essen of Miami Lakes, Florida; and cousins Elena Baur (Hart) and Michael Essen of Miami, Florida. She is predeceased by grandparents Martin and Rita Ammerman, Milton Hersh and Frances Hersh Inabnit and her in-laws Peter Barrett Fobes and Sally Paris Myers.
A celebration of Alexis’s life will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at10:00 am at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapel at Mount Nebo, located at 5900 S.W. 77th Avenue in Miami, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Alexis’s memory to the American Cancer Society or to your favorite pet charity.
