Charles Edmund Coy

Born July 21, 1946 to Josephine and Ashley Coy, Charlie was raised in Dexter, Michigan. After he graduated high school, Charlie worked as a Mason and married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte McIntyre. Together, they moved with their four children to their current home on Elk Lake in 1978.

Family and friends will remember Charlie as hard working and easy going. His subtle humor and quick wit left anyone around him with a laugh and a smile. Over the years he enjoyed his home on the lake;

playing ice hockey with his kids, snowmobiling, fishing and boating… he was often spotted with his sweetheart, cruising the shoreline in his Aquasport. In retirement, he enjoyed working in the yard with his tractor, following collegiate football and basketball, and watching birds and wildlife from his favorite spot in his living room. Living on the water with Char, catching up with his children over morning coffee or a game of euchre, and teasing and joking with his grandkids are what Charlie cherished most.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Ashley and Josephine, and his brother Tom. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte; siblings, Dick (Carol) Coy and Mary Jo (Rich) Ulrich; Brothers-in-law, Mike (Sue)

McIntyre and Tom (Frank) McIntyre and sisters-in-law Mary Kay (Mark) Lancaster and Marie Coy; his children, daughter Christine (Brad) Kozel, son Charlie (Corrie) Coy, daughter Kelly Coy and son Pat Coy.

Charlie was blessed with eight grandchildren: Bri, Ashleigh, Talon, Drew, Kaylee, Alexis, Laken and Jaycie; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Elk Rapids on Thursday, February 27th. Visitation will take place at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon in the church hall.
