Cole, Jerry Lane, 74, passed away peacefully, on July 11, 2024, at home with his wife by his side. He was born in Elizabethtown, KY, on January 6, 1950, to the late Roy Edward Cole and Hazel Thomas Hudson Cole.
Jerry served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War. He loved classic Chevy cars, especially the fast ones, the timeless tunes of classic rock, and delving deep into history, with a particular fascination for the Civil War. Jerry's home was always filled with the purrs of his beloved cats, and his kindness was evident in the way he never met a stranger. Above all, he cherished his family, adoring his children and grandchildren who were the light of his life.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, and his brother, Eddie Cole.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Pierce Cole; children, Gerald Cole (Veronica), Jennifer Scionti (Tony), Karen Reynolds (Thomas); 9 grandchildren; and an aunt, Betty Jo Blandford.
A service to honor Jerry will take place on Tuesday, July 16, at 11 AM, at Brown Funeral Home. Family, friends, and guests are invited to visitation the evening before, Monday, July 15, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home. Jerry will be laid to rest following the service at St. James Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Hosparus, who took such great care of Jerry.
