With one sneeze Tyler entered the world. Tyler was the first grandchild born on both sides of his family. He was the one to give everyone a promotion. Robert and Kelly became Dad and Mom. Glenn, Georgia, Louie and Catherine became Grandparents and all the siblings got bumped up to Aunt and Uncle status.
When he was young, some members of the family called him the Golden Child because he would tan so perfectly. As a child he would set traps, build forts and teepees in the parks of San Francisco. Not to mention digging holes. Every time he was at the chilly beaches of San Francisco, his father and sister would start building a sand castle or sand crocodile but Tyler would begin digging a giant hole straight away. Then when it was almost as deep as he was tall, he would hop in and admire his work, listening to the wind rushing over the beach and the waves crashing in the distance. His adventurous and goofy nature followed him into his adult life. As a child, he loved to do impersonations and would make crazy faces any time a camera came out. His youngest son, Jackson, is no different.
He loved hot wheels, legos, slot cars and remote control cars. It was a common occurrence to have intricate tracks over their entire flat on Onondaga St. He spent his adolescence playing outside, spending summers with cousins exploring, going to the local pools and movie theaters.
Another thing that followed him into his adulthood was his love of toys. Tyler loved his toys. From Hot Wheels, slot cars, to trading cards his collections were a favorite pastime. Eventually he turned his love of toys into a career, one of his first jobs as the owner of his own hobby & billiards shop. His store became a nerd haven where people could come together, share their common interests
He joined the Army where he served in the 1st armored division 2nd brigade special troops battalion. In that ragtag team of new soldiers he formed friendships that far outlasted his military career. He was trained as a welder, when his unit didn’t have a need for a welder he adapted, and that’s where he got to shine as a mechanic. His son, Ethan, picked up his tinkering nature as well. In his short life, Tyler explored many different careers. From tending the bar at Applebee’s, becoming a soldier in the army, working on the railroad across the country, working deep underground in the mines, working at a favorite hangout Wing Daddy’s to being the bearer of bad news as a process server. Tyler was a motivated hard working man. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and was never without a side hustle. He discovered the buy, sell and trade market in El Paso and put his mechanical skills to work acquiring and flipping cars and motorcycles.
Tyler had a sense of humor that could win anyone over. He had a big heart, an infectious laugh, and eyes that were always smiling. He was always ready to jump in and help anyone who needed it. His friendly loving nature made it easy to make friends. He always had a good attitude and could make the best out of any situation. Tyler loved to tease and would always have a joke ready to cut any tension. He loved to have lively conversations, if you were on Tyler’s call list you never know what kind of conversations you would get into from politics to telling you about his next big idea Tyler was never short on talking points.
Tyler met the love of his life Cheska on the road in Arizona. Together they traveled the country together and always worked together as a team. Tyler and Cheska built a life together that was full of joy and love. They affectionately called each other “Babe”, and had plans to build an empire together. Tyler shared his love of firearms and motorcycles with Cheska. Her family’s name for her was “Diva”, so when she began to work alongside Tyler on their bikes and even learned to ride her family was surprised. Together they loved to hang out with friends and socialize. Their life together was full of hard work, determination, laughter, and love.
Tyler’s pride and joy were his two boys, Ethan and Jackson. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family. He was always sending pictures of the boys to his family across the country. Tyler was a proud father to two amazing boys who are so much like their Dad. Ethan inherited Tyler’s analytical thinking nature, while Jackson to his goofy outgoing ways. Tyler was always happy to share what his boys were doing and how they were growing. Taking them on hikes, playing games together, spending that summer in the pool or just being with his boys, any time he spent with them was precious.
Tyler was full of love and laughter. He is dearly missed by family and countless friends.
